Types of SEO

There are following types of SEO that you should know as a digital marketer:

Types of SEO
1. White Hat SEO
2. Black Hat SEO
3. Grey Hat SEO
4. Technical SEO
5. On-page SEO
6. Off-page SEO
7. e-commerce SEO

Let’s talk about each briefly to know appropriately.

1. White Hat SEO

White Hat SEO

White Hat SEO consists of all optimization techniques followed by Google’s search engine guidelines. In this SEO technique, you should take care of offering quality content to the audience and services.

It improves your website speed, provide fast site loading times and mobile-friendliness.

Using descriptive, keyword-rich meta tags as well as it makes your site easy to navigate. However, one needs to be patient to see the results, they are durable and create genuine goodwill around your brand.

There is no risk of your site being restricted or bumped into search results if there is a new algorithm change.

If you do it correctly, white-hat SEO is low risk and high rewards.

2. Black Hat SEO

Black-hat SEO is the exact opposite of white-hat SEO, in that it takes advantage of any flaws or weaknesses in Google’s search algorithms to rank better on its SERPs.

It does not survive the search engine’s list of SEO dos and resets to spam or paid link building methods, keyword stuffing, showing different content to bottom/crawlers and humans, etc. to proceed.

One thing in this technique is that it doesn’t inform you that your site is blacklisted or its rankings drop so it is best avoided.

Having black hat SEO techniques does not provide you long-term results. These high-risk SEO techniques give you only short-lived results.

3. Grey Hat SEO

Grey itself comes between white and black. So, by the name, it is clear that elsewhere between white and black, if used by a professional, can still be effective.

It is not that safe to use. It is safe to say that taking a gray hat approach if you are not prominently sure what you are doing and since we are now primarily content-led, playing with fire.

This search engine optimization has some technique, let’s jump into it deeply.

It consists of:

Cloaking- Cloaking is a practice that shows the user a different result than the search engine.

Purchasing old domain(which I do not recommend personally)- You think maybe the domain has high demand or great traffic advantages, but this will not be good for you when you want to grab the trust of the audience.

Link buying(not good for your small business)- Link which is already used and known by many will never help you in your website growth.

Purchasing contents(Not helpful in growing your business): This is the same if you want your authentic presence of the site to create your own content.

Social media automation and purchasing followers

These come under spamming and all.
This is not something which I recommend you to take for yourself.

4. Technical SEO

In this search engine optimization, you surely get a better organic ranking and reach your goal by ensuring a website with the technical requirements of modern search engines.

Technical SEO is important and it includes crawling, indexing, rendering, and website architecture.

By having technical SEO you get some pros and cons are gives below:

You can have the best site with the best content.
But if your technical search engine optimization is messed up?
Then you’re not going to rank.

At the most basic level, Google and other search engines need to be able to find, crawl, render and index the pages on your website.

But this is just scratching the surface.  Even though Google indexes all of the content on your site, it does not mean that your work is done.

Because your site has to be fully optimized for technical SEO, your site’s pages are secure, mobile-optimized, free of duplicate content, fast-loading, and a thousand other things that go into technical optimization.

5. On-page SEO

On-page SEO is the practice of optimizing individual web pages to rank higher and earn more relevant traffic in search engines.

In On-page SEO technique, all you have to do is available in your website plugins. It may be free or pro but it is so simple and easy to do.

On-page refers to both the content of a page and the HTML source code that can be customized, unlike off-page search engine optimization which refers to links and other external signals.

It optimizes important stuff like keyword research, title tags, meta descriptions, content optimization, internal linking structures, etc., which helps improve your website’s ranking as well as providing you with more traffic.

6. Off-page SEO

Off-page SEO refers to techniques that you can use to improve the position of the website in search engine results pages (SERPs).

Many people know off-page SEO as it is link building technique but it is more than that.

To understand it in an easy way, you can say that it is a method of promoting the website to increase traffic and to rank top on search results.

Ecommerce SEO is about ensuring your product page among all those ten organic search results.

There are, of course, many more pages to search. But the higher the page number you rank on, the lower the traffic you’ll generate.
